La Festa Mayor de Grácia 2014
Tuesday, 02 of September of 2014
If you come to Barcelona in summer you do not have time to be bored. Apart from the best and the most exclusive clubs to which you can get in for free with Isaac Guestlist, Barcelona offers you numerous Europe´s biggest music festivals, which together with Catalan traditions make an extraordinary mix that will tickle all your senses.
One of the biggest traditional festivals of Barcelona is La Festa Major de Grácia. This one-week long event takes place in the middle of August in the streets of the vivid Grácia
During that time residents, national and international crowds walk around the area to admire the most beautiful street decorations. About 19 streets throughout the district compete to win the title for the best decorated street.
Different themes are chosen every year but the decorations are always made-over in great detail.
This year you could find yourself in tropical forest where at once you could admire colourful toucans and lazy sloths.
To escape from the swelter you could cool down under chilly rain.
Or even get this little thrill when walking through plants and red flowers, spiders were waiting to catch you in to their webs.
Apart from a great visual experience you could enjoy life-music all day long and early night. Numerous bands played latin, reggae, Spanish, and jazz music on every corner.
Obviously, together with my friends we just couldn´t miss parade with fireworks! Craziness!!! The only piece of advice I have is: wear some fireproof clothing and girls watch your hair!
To sum up, like I mentioned before you cannot be bored in Barcelona during the summer as its calendar is just full of events! Just last week there was also La Festa Mayor de Sants!
